Aron Nels Steinke


Aron Nels Steinke first studied hand-drawn animation before eventually gravitating towards comics. In 2006 he received a Xeric Grant which propelled him into the self-publishing and cartooning world for good. Aron has published 5 issues of the autobiographical comics series, Big Plans, in which he portrays the more poignant moments in life. Aron's all-ages graphic novel, Neptune, first published in 2009 by Sparkplug Comic Books and Tugboat Press, has been translated and published in French by French publisher Éditions Cà et Là. Aron has published two books with Blue Apple, The Super Crazy Cat Dance and The Super-Duper Dog Park. Aron currently spends his days teaching first and second grade and his weekends dreaming up and drawing his next book. He lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife and three cats.
