About The Author/Artist
Simms Taback won a Caldecott Honor Award for There Was an Old Woman Who Swallowed a Fly and the Caldecott Medal for Joseph Had a Little Overcoat, of which The Horn Book wrote, “The art sings with color and movement and humor and personality.” He has also produced award-winning titles for Blue Apple, such as Peek-a-Boo, Who? (a 2006 Scholastic Parent & Child Best Book of the Year) and Simms Taback’s Big Book of Words (a 2004 Child Best Book of the Year, 2004 Parenting Book of the Year Award winner, and a 2004 Parents’ Choice Gold Award winner).
