This companion to Ruckus on the Ranch! opens with all the ranch animals settling down to bed.
But when dog Clem spots the fiery orange of the harvest moon and yelps, “The moon’s on fire!”, sleep is impossible.
It takes a clever cowboy and cowgirl to convince the animals that the moon is shining brightly as it does every October, and they can use the hours of daylight to harvest crop and mend fences. The book closes with a lullaby that finally puts all the animals to sleep.
A rousing animal romp at the beginning of the story gives way to a charming cowboy lullaby, making this a perfect naptime/bedtime book.
